Malcolm Extraterrestrial. This name just popped into my head one day, and sort of laid dormant there for months. I’m still not really sure what I will try to do with him. The two biggest ideas I have is he could either a superhero, I envision him fulfilling the role of the J’onn J’onzz Martian Manhunter character on a team of all-Black superheroes, or he could possibly be the star of his own comic strip, the premise being that he’s alien whose crash-landed and is now stranded on Earth, and we see him going around trying to adapt to living among humanity, with humorous results. I have a few ideas for the latter, but I just don’t really have the time to develop it at the moment, but we’ll see what the future develops.

I recently decided to order a commission of this character from Celina Hernandez, and the above image is the result. It came out nice. And actually seeing the character helps me imagine how I would write him.  I was originally leaning towards writing with him with a bit of a sarcastic personality, but now I see him as more straight-laced and somewhat naive, and therefor often baffled by the absurd behavior of humans.
